A while back, before some life-changing events that stalled my plans out, I planned to get this beauty:
This would be an ideal contraption to pedal around town in with a dog. Yes, I said pedal. It’s a bike. It’s called the ELF, and it’s made by a company called Organic Transit. The model I’m looking at has two seats, so I could, in fact, take my dog for a ride.
It’s one of a class of vehicles called velomobiles, pedal-powered bikes and trikes encased in a protective and aerodynamic shell. I had the pleasure of trying one a couple of months ago, and fell head-over-heels in love with the thing. Alas, now is not the appropriate time to actually buy one, but when it is, I will… Oh yes, I will. And then I’m never getting in a car to go two miles for groceries or commute to a job site ever again.
