ROFL! U R fny!

In all seriousness, I'm not going to start writing in lolcat and worrying about whether or not I can fit an entire thought into Twitter. I'm going to treat it as a chat program, not a blogging tool, and if I have something to say that won't fit, it'll go here, not there.

Oh, man. This is really disappointing. You were the poster-person for the anti-twitter movement. I thought we had a strong leader. "If Damon can hold out," I reasoned, "maybe I can hold out too. Maybe the English language in it's current form has a chance to survive this century."

4 U 2 do this is @betrayal. How can U liv w/ ur self? ...lol.....jk

Well, it would be an app on my own computer. If someone has physical access to my computer, there's pretty much no security system that could stop them from messing with my accounts.

Damon...

FB has some proprietary bits in it that persuaded me to post textual content to my blog (on Blogspot) and then post links from FB so that I could be sure FB wouldn't claim it owned my content.

Currently, I have Twitter updates (and therefore Delicious links) showing up on my FB page. Twitter also feeds into Google Buzz (as does Blogspot).

Umm... Tweetdeck might do some of what you want (haven't used it in a while) in terms of watching blogs, Twitter feeds and various other social networks.

Right... Twitter updates also show up on my blog. For a while, I was Tweeting blog updates with links.

Um... I'd like to respectfully submit that while Twitter updates can be banal, if one approaches 140 characters the same way one approaches the crafting of exquisite haiku, they don't have to be.

I'd also want to ask the question: given that a single app would need to know the passwords of your Google account, your FB account, and your LJ account, are you sure you want that security risk?

It's now 8 job postings, from what I hear. They also posted a public letter stating it's a software problem, but... Let's just say I'm skeptical.

The ego, by its very nature, doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you really delve into it.

I think Apple is so wrapped up in their image creation machine that the embarrassment of having hyped and sold a defective device requiring a recall is something they don't want to consider. This isn't some defective battery they can blame on a Chinese factory. They really failed here. It's very uncool.

I've also read they posted 3 job openings for antenna engineers yesterday.

"Do you think there is any benefit for a writer, or any other professional wanting to market themselves, in using LiveJournal for blogging rather than or in addition to a blog such as this?"

Definitely. It allows you to network with other writers. There's a large writing community on LiveJournal, and it's both fun and useful to share ideas with them there.

"Does being on the LiveJournal site give you extra publicity?"

I think so, although that's really only a factor for the big names. (Look at George R. R. Martin's blog there some time. He's amassed incredible numbers of readers).

"Do you think it’s worth the time to cross post everything?"

It doesn't take me any time at all. My blog posts here are automatically cross-posted there.

We'll see, but I doubt it, so long as Google doesn't start adopting those strong-arm tactics we were talking about.
